11 suspects taken into custody following drug bust in Pauipa’a

Hard drugs, such as ice or methamphetamine valued at close to $30,000 were seized from Puipa’a last night during an armed raid by the Ministry of Police and Prisons.
A statement issued by Police indicated the raid started Tuesday afternoon and went into the night where 11 suspects were apprehended.
“During the raid, a substantial quantity of methamphetamine drugs and ammunition, estimated to have a street value of $26,000 talā, was seized.”
Police also seized live ammunition, jewelry believed to have been exchanged for ice and cash.
“It is important to note that the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) is diligently carrying out its duties to ensure the safety and security of the community.
“The successful execution of this raid at Puipaa demonstrates SPPCS’ commitment to combating the distribution of illicit drugs and the possession of dangerous weapons.”
