Police investigates case of 13 year old boy injured from gun

A 13-year-old boy is being treated at the hospital for wounds as a result of a firearm incident. 

This was confirmed by the Commissioner of Police Aupa’au Logoitino Filipo during a press conference yesterday with the media. 

The incident occurred in Afega on Sunday morning, however, the Ministry was only informed in the afternoon. 

He said that preliminary investigations by Police uncovered the boy was accompanied by family members, they were heading to put down a pig but something happened instead that led to the injuries of the 13-year-old boy. 

He’s at the hospital for treatment and remains under observation by the doctors. In the meantime, the investigation is continuing and he cannot further comment. 

Auapa’au did not comment on the legal status of the weapon involved or whether its in the Police custody.
