$3 million petrol station to refuel all Government vehicles dedicated

The Government of Samoa has opened the doors of its brand new petrol station to refuel all Government vehicles.
The petrol station was officially opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the outgoing Minister of Finance Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molioo, and the new Minister of Finance Lautimuia Uelese Afoa Vaai.
In her keynote address, Mulipola says that the project’s total cost is $3 million and is fully Government funded.
The cost includes 1 acre of land, half an acre of which is used for the petrol station, the office, and storage for the Ministry of Finance’s records.
The other half is planned to be the location of the transport sector for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (C.H.O.G.M.) next year.
The petrol station includes 4 dispensers 3 underground tanks with a storage capacity of 25,000 liters for diesel and 15,000 for petrol. According to Mulipola the new petrol station will be assistance during natural disasters and serve all government vehicles to be refuelled in one location.
Ministry vehicles are currently being refueled here with Public Enterprises or State Owned Enterprises to soon follow. She thanked the Prime Minister and Cabinet for their support towards this project and acknowledged the partnership with private petrol stations Pesega Service Station and T&N Toleafoa Service Station for their services through the years.
