31 year old charged in connection to death of pedestrian in Vaimoso

A 31-year-old man from Solosolo has been charged in relation to the death of a 78-year-old pedestrian. 

This was confirmed by Police Commissioner, Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo in response to questions from Radio Polynesia. 

“The incident occurred last month in Vaimoso. It is alleged the pedestrian was walking on the side of the road when he was struck. 

“We believe that speeding is a factor in this traffic accident,” said the Commissioner. 

 The defendant has been charged with dangerous driving causing death. He is scheduled to appear in court on the 11th July.
