76 firefighters receives promotion


As part of the International Fire Fighters Day Celebration, the Authority officiated the promotion of 76 officers in an intimate ceremony held at the Headquarters Apia Fire Station.

The ceremony was on Wednesday.
The keynote address was delivered by Commissioner Tanuvasa Oloapu Petone Mauga.
The promoted firefighters were honoured with new positions and new ranks in the Authority. Those positions include Assistant Commissioner Officer, Commanders, Senior Station Officers, Station Officers, Leading Fire Fighters, Qualified Fire Fighters, Senior Fire Fighter, Fire Fighter Level 1 & Level 2, NCC 911 Officers, Cadet Firefighters, and surveillance officers.
The promotion was a result of a criteria and selection procedure to ensure a fair and transparency process.
The officers align the ranking structure of the Samoa Fire and Emergency Services in order to meet its service delivery. A total of 15 female officers have been promoted and 61 male officers.

The Commissioner and Executive congratulate all the officers who have been promoted.

The challenge for the newly promoted officers is to ensure to provide professional and emergency services to the people of Samoa.
