Since September 2021, the Australia Federated Police-led Samoa Australia Police Partnership (SAPP) have to work with the Ministry of Police and Prisons to help build the capacity and capabilities of our Forensics Units through the Forensic Renewal Project.
This past week marked a significant step towards achieving their goal of rebuilding and upgrading our forensics lab in order to provide better services to our people.
The Forensic Renewal Project was handed over by the SAPP and will be led by the new Head of Forensics, Superintendent Tagaloa Tipasa Matamu.
As part of SAPP’s ongoing committment and support to building capacity and capabilities of the Forensic Unit; three (3) fully equipped Crime Scene Examiners Kits, a new Forensic vehicle with service pod, a restored Forensic Section vehicle and a Digital Forensics Operator field kit were gifted to the SPPCS during the ceremony.
