Of the 32 passengers, including the bus driver of the Falealili bus that crashed into a maroon Tucson Monday morning, four remain at the Motootua hospital and are in critical condition.
Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo confirmed this in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.
He said their investigation is underway, but the preliminary reports indicate the bus had faulty brakes.
Video footage on the incident showed the bus split in half after crashing into the oncoming Tucson.
According to Auapa’au the passengers admitted into the hospital include an elderly person and several women. The driver of the Tucson was a female and was also taken into the hospital for treatment but was released.
The video footage of the incident saw that the back of the Tucson sustained a huge dent.
