Alleged con artist to appear in court next week

Lynn Nauer accused of conning members of the public, claiming she’s a recruiter for seasonal work overseas will appear before the court on 25 October 2022.

Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo confirmed that she’s been in police custody since her arrest last week. 

She is charged with obtaining by deception. According to the Police Commissioner, eight complaints were lodged against Ms Nauer and they were trying to locate her when they received a call from the Chiefs of Laulii that she was seen in Laulii. 

The Commissioner also used the opportunity to commend the Village Council of Laulii for assisting the Police in this case. 

He issued a general reminder that harbouring people wanted in criminal matters is an offence under the Crimes Act. 

Furthermore, the Police Commissioner continues to warn the public, given this is not the first time this has occurred that they should be more vigilant and go through the appropriate process with the relevant ministry when it comes to seasonal work overseas.
