Am Samoa, confirmed community cases climbs to 63

The latest COVID-19 news from American Samoa, as of last night the confirmed community cases has increased to 63.

Talanei reports that a statement issued by the Department of Health a total of 224 tests were conducted; 9 tested positive. All 9 were fully vaccinated.

There were no reported hospitalizations or deaths related to COVID-19.

Anyone who tests positive is served with a Home Isolation Directive. They are to stay isolated at home for 14 days.

All family members in the same household are considered close contacts and are served with a Home Quarantine Directive, also for 14 days.

Enforcement of Home Isolation and Quarantine will be conducted by the Department of Public Safety and Office of Samoan Affairs.

And that 80.3 % of the total population are fully vaccinated.
