American Samoa records fourth Covid related death

Covid-19 has claimed the life of a fourth person in American Samoa.

The latest fatality is a 63-year-old woman from Tafuna who passed away yesterday.

Talanei reported the woman was admitted on March 26, Saturday, with a cough, shortness of breath, and fever and tested positive for Covid 19.

“She was treated for multiple comorbid medical conditions along with Covid-19.

The primary causes of death were heart failure, heart attack (coronary artery disease), pneumonia, chronic kidney disease, and other contributing factors such as diabetes, anemia, right-leg cellulitis, electrolyte imbalance, and Covid-19.

She was fully vaccinated but did not have a booster shot.
