In the last 48 hours, one new COVID-19 related death has been recorded taking the death toll to 13. The deceased is a 73-year-old male.
Out of respect for the families and relatives, the Ministry of Health will not be making any further comments.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health confirmed 362 new community cases, 15 cases in managed isolation and four critical cases in ICU at the Moto’otua Hospital within the period commencing from 2:00 pm 16th April to 2:00 pm 18th April 2022.
“Members of the public are reminded to remain vigilant and take heed of public health advice to wear face masks, keep to the 2-meter social distancing in public places, stay home and isolate if you are feeling unwell and practice safe personal hygiene at all times.
“The public is again urged to get vaccinated as vaccination remains the best defence against COVID-19 pandemic. Keeping our families and loved ones safe is everyone’s responsibility.”
