Atoa o Samoa executive talks kicks off today

The ATOA O SAMOA EXECUTIVE TALKS will begin today with the Guard of Honour inspection by the Governor of American Samoa Lemanu Peleti Mauga accompanied by the Police Royal Band and a prayer service to follow in front of the government building. 

Governor Lemanu and Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa are expected to give opening remarks. 

Yesterday the American Samoan Government Delegation paid a Special Site Visit to NUS and met with Vice Chancellor – Professor Aiono Ekeroma who made a special presentation on Technical & Vocational Education Programmes that are already offered by our University; should they need to bring their Students over for Technical Training at NUS.

Other members of the delegation had an introductory meeting and a site visit to the Samoa Port Authority’s port expansion project funded by the Asian Development Bank, the Transport and Infrastructure Sector of the Government of Samoa was represented by CEOs/ACEOs from MWTI, LTA, SPA, AA, SSC, SWA and EPC. 

Directors from the American Samoa Government present included the Director for Public Works, the Director for Energy, Director for Disaster Management and Petroleum, the Director of Ports and the Director of Search and Rescue. 

On Friday the talks will conclude and a press conference will follow.
