In-person voting will not be available in Samoa for the Australian federal election.
“We continue to encourage Australians who have not already done so to register for a postal vote to participate in the upcoming election.
“For this election, the Australian Electoral Commission is delivering postal ballot papers directly to overseas voters by international courier.
“And has already commenced progressively sending postal votes to overseas voters.”

Completed postal votes should be sent as quickly as possible back to the AEC in Australia or mailed or dropped off to the Australian High Commission Samoa no later than 19 May 2022 for onforwarding to the AEC by diplomatic mail.

The Australian Federal Election is scheduled for 21 May 2022.

According to the AEC’s website, they are working day and night to ensure postal votes are sent as soon as possible.
“Our embassies and consulates are already receiving and processing postal votes from Australians overseas.
  • Even though postal vote applications close on 18 May 2022, you’re encouraged to apply, complete and return your vote as soon as possible to ensure you beat the cut-off.
  • To be counted, your postal vote must be completed and witnessed by 6 pm AEST on 21 May. The AEC can only accept ballot papers received in Australia by 3 June 2022 (13 days after the election).

You can send your postal vote directly to the AEC in Australia. Alternatively, you may be able to send it or drop it off at an Australian embassy, high commission or consulate which will return your postal vote to the AEC on your behalf.”
