The Public Service Commission has recommended Fui Tupa’i Mau Simanu as Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Works Transport and Infrastructure in their submission to Cabinet.
A Chief Engineer for Quality Assurance and Development, Fui has been Assistant CEO at the Electric Power Corporation and has been with the Corporation for more than 20 years.
This was confirmed by the Minister of Works, Transport and Infrastructure, Olo Fiti Vaai in an interview with Radio Polynesia in Savaii.
If approved by Cabinet Fui who is from Savaia, Falefa and Sagone, Savai’i will take over the position that was held by Magele Hoe Viali, whose contract was not extended several months ago, pending the advertisement of the position.
Last year Fui was the recipient of the Career Contribution Award at the National Energy Coordination Committee’s (N.E.C.C.) first-ever award presentation.
