Catholics mourn passing of Deacon Kasiano Leaupepe

Members of the Catholic Church are mourning the passing of Reverend Deacon Kasiano Leaupepe. 

He was 86. Leaupepe passed away yesterday. 

Social Media was flooded with heartfelt messages of his passing yesterday evening, with posts about his long years of service in the Church and the Country.

The condolences messages also pointed out how Leaupepe had an impact on the lives of many saying that he was a straight shooter and did not mince words when getting a point across. 

Leaupepe was Chairman of the National Council of Churches since 2012, he took over from the Late Reverend Oka Fauolo. 

Last month he retired as Chairman of the NCC.
