The Ministry of Commerce Industry and Labour confirmed that the cessation of the Daylight Saving Time (DST) policy is still in effect as per Cabinet (21) 37 dated Wednesday 15th of September 2021.
“This means that Samoa continues to observe the normal time used since September 2021.”
This is outlined in a statement issued today.
“For further information of the public, Samoa’s correct time zone should match the Kingdom of Tonga’s, and we encourage everyone to switch to that time zone, as advised by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
“All Mobile Phones, Internet and IT companies are to be reminded to adhere to earlier cessation notices and to review all your relevant programs and frameworks to reflect the changes for the Day Light Saving Time to avoid confusion of the general public.”
