Commissioner leads delegation to NZ

The Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Samoa’s Ministry of Police and Prisons are in New Zealand in line with an invitation by the New Zealand Commissioner of Police Andrew Coaster. 

Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, Deputy Commissioner Papali’i Monalisa Tiai-Keti and three other Police members are part of the delegation. 

The invitation by Police Commissioner Andrew Coster will see the Samoa Police and NZPOL demonstrate and discuss prevention approaches, which will include a dialogue on the 2019 Structure Review Report of Samoa Police which NZPOL had assisted SPPCS. 

“The purpose of the visit was an invitation by the NZ commissioner to further discuss the assistance that is required by Samoa police to be delivered by NZ police,” said Police Commissioner in response to Radio Polynesia questions.

Also, the Samoa Police will visit the NZ Royal Police College to “observe aspects of New Zealand Police recruitment and training, Dog Training Centre.

Furthermore, the NZPOL will also discuss their prospective support to Samoa Police in the future. 

Samoa Police Commissioner Auapa’au will, however, utilize this forum to give deliberation of support for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2024.
