Community cases now stands at 2,566

Samoa’s Ministry of Health has confirmed, that 123 new community cases were recorded in the last 24hrs bringing the total number of community cases to 2,566.

Of this total, 1,524 are active cases with 1,039 recovering from the virus. To date, 24,241 RATs have been administered by the Ministry of Health. There are 14 cases currently in managed isolation at the Moto’otua National Hospital.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed the second recorded covid related death, an 87-year-old female who was unvaccinated and had no underlying health conditions.

She was admitted to the hospital with severe COVID-19 and tested positive and passed away as a result.
