Confirmed COVID cases over 7,000; three critical cases in the ICU

The Ministry of Health confirmed 383 new community cases, 18 cases in managed isolation and three critical cases in the Intensive Care Unit at the Moto’otua Hospital.

This is the data for the reporting period from 2 pm on 19th April to 2:00 pm on 20th April 2022 outlined in a statement issued tonight by the National Emergency Operations Center.

The total number of community cases is now recorded at 7,114. According to the MOH, no new covid related deaths were recorded in this reporting period and the death toll remains at 13. 

The COVID-19 cases at Port of Entry total 71 including eight new positive border cases confirmed. 

Members of the public are reminded to remain vigilant and continue to follow public health advice to wear face masks, keep to the 2-meter social distance in public places, stay home and isolate if feeling unwell and practice safe personal hygiene at all times.
