The Supreme Court and District Court at Mulinu’u and Tuasivi are closed due to the extension of the State of Emergency Order for the next 14 days.
This was confirmed by the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration, Chief Executive Officer Moliei Simi Vaai in a statement issued to the media.
Noting that all matters scheduled in the next 14 days for the Supreme Court and District Court at Mulinuu and Tuasivi are deferred until further notice.
“The sitting of the Court of Appeal on 28th and 29th March 2022 is now vacated and the Court will issue new event dates in due course and that urgent cases concerning liberty or personal safety will continue to be heard virtually by the Court.”
The CEO pointed out if there is any matter scheduled to be called in Court during the period of the SOE lockdown that requires urgent attention, the lawyers or parties are to contact the Registrar in the first instance.
