COVID cases now 262

The number of community cases continues to climb.  A total of 66 new confirmed cases were recorded yesterday bringing the number of COVID cases to 262. 

“The Ministry of Health confirms a total of 1,510 tests were carried out today, as at 12 PM Monday 21 March 2022 at seventeen (17) designated COVID-19 screening sites, including health facilities.” 

There are five recorded cases in Savaii and a total of 257 in Upolu and there are six that are in the isolation ward.

A statement issued by the National Emergency Operations Committee says in addition to the 247 community cases, 15 imported cases linked to the NZ 0990 repatriation flight on 06th March 2022, continue to be monitored isolation, bringing a combined total of 262 active COVID-19 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified a total of 428 close contacts of these cases and remain under investigation.”
