Members of the Disaster Advisory Committee have confirmed a proposal has been made to extend the lockdown for another two weeks, by the Acting Director-General, Dr Glen Atoa Fatupaito over the weekend.
This was confirmed DAC members who wish to stay anonymous, noting that only the Chairman is allowed to speak to the media.
The proposal will be deliberated by the Cabinet in its meeting today.
Repeated efforts to get comments from Dr Glen, Chairman of the DAC, Agafili Shem Leo, but members of the Disaster Advisory Committee, the extension is to allow the rollout of the vaccine program to be completed.
There are also concerns about the rising numbers of nurses and doctors affected by COVID.
