Diffusion and development for cultivation technology of orchid in Samoa

The benefits from borders reopening will flow not just to businesses and employees in the tourism and hospitality sectors, but also to those working in Government Agencies as they will finally get to meet the overseas project experts and mission teams after 2 to 3 years of online meeting arrangements.
This is according to a statement released by JICA.
“The Samoa Trust Estate Corporation (STEC) and the Scientific Research Organization of Samoa (SROS) are happy to receive the Mission team for the Diffusion and Development for Cultivation Technology of Orchids Project from Japan. The Mission team have arrived in Samoa and are expected to be in Samoa for a week.
“This project commenced in August 2021, with training for STEC and SROS’s team conducted online due to the global pandemic and border closures. The project will continue until January 2024.
“Their main objective during this project is to introduce development for cultivation technology of Orchid to STEC and SROS as well as local producers.
The mission members from Japan are Mr. Yoshihito Suzuki, Mr. Hiroyuki Ichikawa, Mr. Kochev Alexander and Dr. Masaru Otani. The mission team are currently working closely with Ms. Natasha Kolose, Assistance Chief Executive Officer of STEC.”
