Anita Sesilia Iona Mateo charged in the death-related vehicle accident involving a 3-year-old at Tuanaimato appeared for criminal mention this week in the Supreme Court.
The 43-year-old defendant who appeared pro se; is charged with negligent driving causing death.
As first reported by Radio Polynesia the accident led to the death of a three-year-old toddler, due to the severity of the injuries.
It’s alleged the woman was speeding when the toddler ran across and the vehicle struck her. The driver didn’t stop however she turned herself in at the Faleata Police post.
The matter has been adjourned to the 17th of this month.
