Drug raid in Lotopa, Police seized ice and more than $10,000 tala

The Ministry of Police continues to crack down on hard drugs in the Country. In Lotopa on Thursday, they executed a search warrant and discovered eight baggies of methamphetamine or ice and more than $10,000 tala cash.

The weight of the ice is confiscated was 5.14 grams and for each gram, the street value is $1,000.

A 51-year-old man has been arrested as a result of the raid, this was confirmed by Deputy Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.

Police impounded the defendant’s vehicle.

Auapa’au further confirmed the seizing of illegal contraband such as utensils and electronic devices and equipment.

The defendant has been charged with possession of narcotics or ice and possession of utensils. He has been remanded into the custody of the Police at Tanumalala and will appear in the Supreme Court on 20 June, 2022.

The defendant is drug convict, confirmed Auapa’au.
