The Ministry of Police and Prisons is investigating the death of a man with gunshot wounds. This is concerning a shooting incident in Fa’atoia earlier this week.
Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo confirmed this in response to questions from Radio Polynesia. In his 30’s, Auapa’au confirmed the man’s death. He noted that they received a call from people in the area regarding gunshots.
He also told Radio Polynesia the residence where the incident occurred has been under Police Surveillance for drug activities in the past.
He said they are awaiting official word from the Coroner whether an autopsy is required in this matter.
