Fallen female cop laid to rest

Constable Mele Segisolo Lapana who was allegedly shot by her boyfriend a former cop last December was laid to rest yesterday. 

The Ministry of Police and Prisons paid tribute to her work as a Policewoman. In a statement released states that she was a caring sister, a beloved daughter and a hard-working colleague to all.

“Assistant Commissioner Papali’i Efo Moalele and members of the Samoa Police Women Advisory Network, on behalf of SPPC, took part in the funeral service to celebrate Constable Mele’s life.
“We salute and honour Constable Mele Segisolo Lapana for her contribution to SPPCS. We also convey our sincerest condolences to the grieving family.”

Constable Lapana was allegedly shot in the head boyfriend who is now in custody, awaiting his trial in the Supreme Court. 

The burial follows the completion of the autopsy that was conducted on Saturday as this was the first post-mortem by the Fijian pathologist. 

Members of the Samoa Police Women Advisory Network attended the funeral on behalf of the Ministry of Police and Prisons.
