The Ministry of Police and Prisons are investigating a traffic accident Salani Falealili, where a rental truck fell into the valley early Sunday morning, carrying 10 people.
All survived but suffered injuries.
This was confirmed by witnesses from the village when questioned by Radio Polynesia at the scene.
The accident landed several people in the main hospital in Motootua.
The family is reported to be visiting Samoa from Australia which included a five-month-old baby and a five-year-old boy.
They were initially treated at the district hospital at Poutasi before they were then transferred to the Tupua Tamasese Meaole hospital due to the severity of the injuries.
