There are five candidates vying for the upcoming by-election for the Gagaifomauga No.2 constituency.
There are two independent members, Falesaopule Vaialia Iosua and Fo’isala Lilo Tuu Ioane; Human Rights Protection Party, Sooalo Fineaso Pola Sooalo and Sooalo Umi Feo Mene and one FAST candidate, Lomia Tauloa Moafanua Sia’aga.
This was confirmed in a public notice issued by the Acting Electoral Commissioner, Lefau Francis Ainu’u at the closing of the nomination period.
The by-election is scheduled on 3 June while pre-polling is set on the 1June, 2022.
Amended electoral laws allows for members of the public who are unable to travel to Savaii for the by-election to cast their ballots at the polling stations in Apia.
