Head of State and Masiofo leads delegation to Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla


The Head of State his Highness Tuimalealiifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II and Masiofo Faamausili Leinafo are in London to attend the coronation of their majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms tomorrow Saturday, 6 May 2023, at Westminster Abbey. 

His Majesty acceded to the throne on 8 September 2022, upon the death of his mother.

Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa says HE High Commissioner Francella Strickland and HE Ambassador Fatumanava Dr Pao Luteru are part of the delegation. 

The Head of State will be delivering the keynote address at a Commonwealth – Coronation special event on Small Islands  States with Samoa as the Chair of the Alliance of Small Islands States (AOSIS).

King Charles is now the head of the Commonwealth and CHOGM24 hosted by Samoa will be his first leaders meeting.
