An independent prosecutor has been appointed by the Attorney General’s office to prosecute the defamation case filed against Perkin Feafiai Headle.
Headle is facing 25 defamation charges over allegations that she has been “defaming” MP’s from the FAST political party.
Headle was visiting the Country when she was charged by Police, following a criminal complaint filed by FAST party Secretary Vaaaoao Salu Alofipo.
The defendant’s travel documents had since been turned over and she has been ordered to sign in at the Police station every Friday as a condition of her bail.
The defendant is represented by Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio. The matter was presided over by District Court Judge Alalatoa Rosella Papalii. When the case was called this week, Leinafo Taimalelagi Strickland appeared for the Attorney General’s office.
Leinafo sought an adjournment to go over the case file and this case will be called Today.
