International Arrival Statistics recorded for June totalling 23,670 arrivals, an increase of 8.6 per cent compared to May.
Those who travelled to Samoa by Air represented 92.9 per cent, while 7.1 per cent travelled by sea.
This is outlined in a report by the Samoa Bureau of Statistics. Visitors made up the most significant component of all arrivals with 71.4 percent represented by 36.9 per cent of females and 34.5 males.
New Zealand remains the leading country in visitors’ arrival by land of usual residence, accounting for 42.0 per cent; Australia followed next with a 27.2 per cent share.
Furthermore, the report says that most visitors, 7,722 entered Samoa for holiday and vacation, while 6,996 joined their shores and relatives.
Air New Zealand carried the highest share of passengers to Samoa, followed by Fiji Airways, Virgin Australia, Samoa Airways, and Qantas.
