While three weekly flights have been confirmed between the two Samoa the lady Naomi vessel, will only carry cargo and no passengers.
American Samoa Department of Health Director, Motusa Tuileama Nua told the media that until the American Samoa Government can take on more passengers, the policy on cargo-only will remain.
It was confirmed last week; the flights are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between Samoa and American Samoa.
The US territory’s Lieutenant Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale said current requirements to enter American Samoa the traveler must first obtain an entry permit and OK board from the local Attorney General’s Office before travel registration on ASG’s TalofaPass web system.
These needed documents are then uploaded when the traveler starts the registration process on TalofaPass.
In the meantime, the American Samoa Government announced guidelines for travelers from Samoa to enter the US Territory.
They must have all their reservations booked directly with Samoa Airways, as the Governor’s Office no longer maintains control of the flight manifest.
Samoa News reports that all travelers must register on the ASG’s TalofaPass web system and upload their travel documents 5-days prior to departure, whereas a vaccination card issued by the Samoa Ministry of Health is required.
Travelers are advised to ensure that names and dates of birth match travel documents. Travelers 5 years and older must be fully vaccinated — which means 14 days or more have passed after the second dose.
