Lafaitele Herbert Aati, appointed as new Deputy Police Commissioner

Cabinet has appointed Police Superintendent Lafaitele Herbert Aati as Deputy Police Commissioner. 

The appointment was confirmed by Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo in response to questions from Radio Polynesia. 

“I can confirm Cabinet’s appointment. Lafaitele is an asset to the Ministry and has recently returned to the Ministry upon completion of studies in New Zealand.

“His vast knowledge and experience will go a long way in our line of work,” said the Police Commissioner. 

Lafaitele of Vaivase Uta has been in the force for over 20 years and has worked in several divisions of the Ministry of Police and Prisons. 

He headed the Criminal Investigation Division, the Transnational Crime Unit and also oversaw several outposts. 

The newly appointed Deputy Commissioner told Radio Polynesia that he’s thankful that Cabinet has confidence in his ability and he will do his best to serve in his new post.
