Lautimuia Uelese Vaai will be sworn in today

Lautimuia Uelese Vaai newly elected Member of Parliament for Vaimauga #3 will be sworn into office this morning when Parliament convenes for its regular session. 

Last month the Head of State issued the warrant of election pursuant to section 84(2) b of the Electoral Act 2019, confirming Lautimuia as a Member of Parliament for the Electoral Constituency of Vaimauga#3.

Lautimuia who is from Vaisala and Maagiagi told Radio Polynesia in an earlier interview his plans for the District such as better education, employment opportunities, and infrastructural projects to assist low-lying areas of Vaimauga #3. 

Lautimuia of the FAST party won against two opponents with 1,531 votes following the by-election, while HRPP’s Samau Solitamalii Timani garnered 1,082 votes and Independent candidate Feagaimaalii Bruce Toomalatai received 106 votes. 

Lautimuia served in various government agencies and recently was Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa Shipping Services.
