The Government’s lockdown has been extended for another two weeks but it’s been shifted to level two “orange” starting tomorrow midnight 5 April to midnight of 19 April, with businesses open from 6am to 2pm from Monday to Saturday.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa at 7:30 pm tonight, announcing the resumption of church services and funerals but limited to 30 people; ferry trips to Savaii are now open from Monday to Saturday but all businesses continue to remain close on Sundays.

Fiame also noted that throughout the extension of the lockdown, the sale of alcohol is prohibited.

“This is to help reduce congestion to public places to continue to drive vaccination and testing programs and to assist in slowing down new infections.”
