Man charged for assaulting Asian cashier, for not selling him alcohol

A 21-year-old man has been charged for assaulting of an Asian cashier in Malifa last week.

The man is facing two charges of causing injury and assault.

This was confirmed by Deputy Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.

According to Auapa’au the defendant will appear in court for criminal mention on 31 May 2022

Adding the accused was upset the cashier refused to sell him alcohol and also he was not wearing a mask. He also confirmed the defendant was under the influence of alcohol.
