Man charged for stabbing wife with knife

A man who allegedly stabbed his wife with a knife has been arrested and charged by the Ministry of Police and Prisons. 

This was confirmed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner, Papalii Monalisa Keti in response to questions from Radio Polynesia. 

He is facing charges of causing injury. 

Papalii said this matter came to light when the officials from the Lalomanu hospital contacted the Police in the early morning of Sunday the 17 July 2022, regarding a 26-year-old female receiving treatment for injuries to her forehead, from “a knife attack”. 

“Information indicates that she was attacked by her husband who was under the influence of alcohol. 

“He was charged on the same Sunday and was remanded in custody for court mentioned” this week.
