A man has been charged over the death of a six-year-old girl, who was run over by a vehicle in Mulivai Safata last week.
The 59-year-old driver is facing charges of criminal negligent driving causing death.
Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo told Radio Polynesia the incident occurred after school when the young girl was walking home from school.
According to Auapa’au the young girl was admitted to the hospital, and efforts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful. She died due to the severity of her injuries.
He is scheduled to appear for his initial criminal mention on 25 of April.
