MCIL CEO position advertised

The Chief Executive officer position for the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Labour has been advertised by the Public Service Commission. 

The current CEO of MCIL is Pulotu Lyndon Chu Ling and his three-year contract will be up soon.  The deadline for qualified candidates is 28 September at 5 pm and those late and incomplete submittals will not be considered.

The Chief Executive Officer is the head of the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Labour and is responsible for the following functions: 

Promote Industry development, foreign investment and guarantees the rights of citizens to participate in the economy of Samoa.

Set standards to regulate fair competitive practices to promote a fair level playing field in all trades, 

Administers the Apprenticeship Scheme, Employment Services, conducting of labour market surveys, collection of Labour Market information.

Promote and enforce labour and employment relations, foreign investment and occupational safety and health standards.

Manage the registries of companies and other legal entities and enforces statutory obligations.

Administers the Recognized Seasonal Employment program as well as the Labour and Employment Exports Programs. 

Management and enforce the statutory obligations of the registries of companies and other legal entities and protect the rights of Intellectual Property holders.
