The Ministry of Education Sports and Culture on Friday 10th June 2022 celebrated a milestone in efforts to continue the development of education in Samoa.
The Curriculum Design and Materials Division (CDMD) have been planning and developing teaching and learning resources and curriculum material over the course of this financial year.
On Friday the materials were officially released and distributed to all schools in Samoa, says a statement issued by MESC>
“The resources are for Early Childhood Education and primary schools.
“It includes a wide variety of supplementary teaching resources such as reading books, charts, posters, activity booklets as well as teacher handbooks.
“Similarly, for secondary schools was the official release and distribution of the new Secondary 4-Year level curriculum statements for Year 9 – Year 12 for all subject areas.”
The MESC Minister Seuula Ioane, a former School Principal highlighted the significance of the achievement by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture.
“And the extent to which these curriculum resources will empower teachers and schools, not only to help improve teaching and learning in the classrooms but to ultimately raise the standard and quality of education for all students of Samoa.”
