Minister: “not enough data and evidence” to warrant random drug testing

A number of issues must be factored in before the Ministry of Police and Prisons can proceed with the random drug testing of members of the Police Force.

However, at the same time, there is “not enough data and evidence” that would warrant such a move.

Minister of Police, Faualo Harry Schuster says it’s not easy to initiate as it has been proposed on several occasions as it affects the fundamental rights of the people in question and also it’s an intrusion.

In an interview with Radio Polynesia, the Minister said the decision should be solidarity.
