The increasing number of cyber crimes reported to the Ministry of Police and Prisons prompted the move to establish an Investigation Cyber Team to deal with such complaints.
Part of the implementation plan is conducting training for the investigating officers, which includes enhancing and up-skilling them on cybercrime.
In a statement issued the Ministry welcomes Mr Feterika Enoka, a Cyber Security Specialist from the New Zealand Police and the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Secretariat. He will work collaboratively with the newly established ICT Unit in delivering the cybercrime training.
According to the statement, Mr Enoka is also a part of the Australian Federal Police Cyber Safety Pasifika Programme and a specialist in Digital Forensics, ICT & Drones.
Mr Enoka will be working with the ICT Unit in the coming weeks on equipping our investigating officers on cybercrime.
