COVID-19 Vaccination Update
According to the Ministry of Health, 97.6 per cent of Samoa’s eligible population have received their first dose, and 71.9 percent have received their second dose.
The Ministry also confirmed that 48,475 people aged 18 years and over have received their booster shots so far.
The President of the Medical Association, Dr Donna Potoi urges the public to get their booster vaccine with the hopes to get the booster’s data to more than 95 per cent.
She also expressed concerns over reports that people who tested positive are still seen in public places running errands and conducting affairs when they should be isolated.
Adding this will not help minimise the rapid spread of COVID in the Country.
Dr Potoi reminds those infected with the virus to stay home for at least 7 days with their close contacts.
