MOH offers expression of interest for locum medical services

Due to the shortage of doctors in the Country, the Ministry of Health, Samoa has issued an expression of interest for locum medical services on a “fee for service arrangement at the Hospital, for  General Outpatients Department (APCC); the Emergency Department (ED); Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics).

(A locum is a person who temporarily fulfils the duties of another. A locum doctor is, therefore, a doctor who covers for another doctor who is on leave)

This ensures that all Samoans have equitable access to efficient, safe and quality health care services, in line with the Government’s vision of “A Healthy Samoa. 

To ensure the adequate provision of quality and safe healthcare services by increasing the number of patients triaged, reducing waiting times for patients in areas of high patient traffic and by improving the ratio of patients to doctors in key frontline areas of the healthcare services;

This is to meet the urgent needs of staff shortage within TTM Hospital. Closing date for Submissions: Friday 7th July 2023
