The Ministry of Health has put out the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital Mortuary tender for the extension.

The deadline for the bid is 24 July 2023.

According to the Ministry, a firm will be selected using the Competitive Bidding procedures described in the Bidding documents and per the Government of Samoa Procurement Guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may request the Bidding documents from the Ministry of Health through email.

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Securing Declaration for that purpose, the form included in the bidding documents, and bids must be delivered to the Secretary Tenders Board by close of business on 24 July.

Also, bids will be opened immediately after closing by the Tenders Board in the presence of the bidders and representatives. Late submittals will not be considered.

In the past, there were a number of complaints regarding the lack of space at the morgue. At one point, the hospital hired a container freezer to store the bodies during covid-19 to await a pathologist.
