MOH seeks consultancy to scale up the essential interventions of NCD control

The Samoa Health System Strengthening Program supports as a subset of the Government’s National NCD Policy and Action Plan 2019-2023 over five years period from March 2020 to December 2025.

Their purpose is to focus on scaling up the essential interventions of NCD control at the primary health care and community setting.

The Environmental and Social System Assessment (ESSA) the identify actions for strengthening key weaknesses in existing waste management/ treatment infrastructure is procured and commissioned as recommended by HCWM review; the implementation Plan for HCWM Strategy is developed/updated and progressively implemented and MOH’s new Waste Management Officer (WHO) and other relevant staff have upgraded their qualifications/experience in environmental health by receiving appropriate training as part of Annual Capacity Building Plan.

However in 2019, the Health Care Waste Management 2013 was reviewed as part of a full healthcare waste system review and through the sponsorship of the World Banks Samoa Health System Strengthening Program for Results, this review identified a number of areas of improvement that could be made which were presented in the National Healthcare Waste Management Strategy 2020-2025 and an accompanying assessment report.

Now the Ministry of Health invites suitable individual consultants who are interested to assist MOH with the above assignment to indicate their interest.

And the consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the given services, such as the availability of appropriate skills with relevant qualifications, descriptions of similar assignments, brochures, experience in similar conditions and others.

The duration of this consultancy is 170 working days over a 36-month period and all applications must be addressed and delivered to the addressed and delivered by February 13th 2023 by 11.00 am.
