The Ministry of Police and Prisons issued more than 400 citations in breaches of the State of Emergency since in March.
This was confirmed by Acting Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.
The latest significant fine issued by the Ministry of Police and Prisons amounted to the Samoa National Lotto, of $10,000 for violation of SOE orders.
The SNL is a branch under the Samoa Gambling Authority which regulates lottery games in the Country.
In March, a Church on the west side of the Country was fined $5,000 during the first week of the lockdown.
In an interview with Radio Polynesia, Auapa’au said 490 citations were issued and the majority are citations for people driving around during the curfew and people galavanting on the road. He also confirmed citations
For shops more than 10 supermarkets including small stores fined for selling alcohol when it was banned and operated during the curfew hours.
Auapa’au was unclear whether the Church and the Samoa National Lotto have paid their fine.
