MP’s underwent training for implementation of District Development Projects

Last week, Members of Parliament completed the Educational Seminar which was conducted for two days.
Erosi Koria, Manager of the Community and Relations Services which was titled, the Participation of Members in Parliamentary Outreach Programs highlighted the significance of implementing Outreach Programs, to bridge the gap between the work of Samoa’s Parliament, her Secretariat and the wider Community.
The presentation also emphasized the need of Members’ contribution during outreach programs in each constituency.
The final presentation was presented by both Dr. Mema Motusaga, Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Women, Community & Social Development, and Saoleitiiti Maeva Betham-Vaai, Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Finance.
Their presentation was mainly focused on the implementation of District Development Projects as well as matters regarding Komiti o Fono Faavae.
The Seminar was also an opportunity for Members to inquire and express their opinions on aspects that would enhance the operation of District Plans and Development Projects.
The closing remark was delivered by the Deputy Speaker, Auapa’au Mulipola Aloitafua Mulipola and acknowledged the support from Members as well as the Ministries through their presentations.
He also reminded the importance of these initiatives, to encourage all Members by developing their constituencies as well as building a close relationship between the Parliament and the Community.
