Murder defendant Edward Fanueli applies for bail, again


Murder defendant Edward Fanueli is asking the Supreme Court for bail once again. This would be his second attempt to be released from jail pending his trial date set on 4 March next year. 

Fanueli is charged in relation to the death of his Cop girlfriend, who was shot dead before Christmas. 

The defendant, a former cop, entered his not-guilty to the charges of murder, manslaughter, grievous bodily harm, armed with a dangerous weapon and possessing an unlawful weapon.

The defendant’s lawyer, Leiataualesa Jerry Brunt, informed Justice Fepulea’i Ameperosa Roma of his application during criminal mention yesterday. 

This is the second time the defendant has applied for bail. The first time in February, was denied.
